VISAS & ENTRY

Everything You Need to Know Before Your Adventure Begins

Travelling to Lombok is straightforward, but there are a few important entry requirements to organise before you fly. Below is everything you need to know to enter Indonesia (including Lombok and Bali) as a tourist.

Visa basics

Which Visa Do You Need for Lombok, Indonesia?

If you’re planning a trip to Lombok, one of the first things to organise is your visa. The good news is that for most travellers visiting Lombok for a holiday, the process is simple and straightforward.

Visa rules are the same across Indonesia, including Lombok and Bali. The only difference travellers usually notice is that Bali has an additional local tourist levy, while Lombok does not.

Below, we break down the main Indonesia tourist visa options, who they’re for, how long you can stay, and how to apply — without unnecessary jargon.

If you’re visiting Lombok for a short holiday, chances are the Visa on Arrival or e-VOA is all you need.

Visa-Free Entry (ASEAN Passport Holders)

Best for: ASEAN citizens visiting Lombok for a short holiday

Length of stay:
30 days (non-extendable)

Cost:
Free

Citizens of the following ASEAN countries can enter Indonesia without a visa:
Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

This visa is issued automatically on arrival and does not require any prior application. It is strictly for tourism purposes, meaning work or business activities are not permitted. Because this visa cannot be extended, you must leave Indonesia before the 30-day period ends.

B1 Visa on Arrival (VoA) / e-VOA – Single Entry

Best for: Most international travellers visiting Lombok

Length of stay:
30 days, extendable once (maximum 60 days)

Cost:
IDR 500,000 (extension not included)

e-VOA processing time:
Usually within 24 hours

If your nationality is listed on Indonesia’s official immigration website, you are eligible for the Visa on Arrival. This is the most common and hassle-free option for travellers visiting Lombok and Bali.

You can:

  • Purchase the visa at the airport on arrival, or

  • Apply online in advance for the e-VOA, which allows faster processing at immigration

If applying online, we recommend doing so a few days before travel, as processing can slow down around weekends and public holidays.

D1 Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa

Best for:
Travellers who visit Indonesia regularly

Length of stay:
Up to 60 days per entry

Cost:

  • IDR 3,000,000 (1 year)

  • IDR 6,000,000 (2 years)

  • IDR 15,000,000 (5 years)

Processing time:
Around 5 working days after payment

This visa allows you to enter and leave Indonesia multiple times during the validity period. Approval usually requires additional documentation explaining why a multiple-entry visa is needed.

All Indonesia Arrival Card (Mandatory)

Every international traveller entering Indonesia must complete the All Indonesia Arrival Card online. This digital form replaces the older paper forms and includes both customs and health declarations.

  • Complete the form within 72 hours before arrival

  • Once submitted, you’ll receive a QR code to show at immigration

  • Make sure you have the QR code ready on your phone (or a printed copy as backup)

Bali Tourist Levy (Bali Only)

If your trip includes Bali, there is a small local tourist levy to be aware of. This fee supports environmental and cultural initiatives across the island.

  • Cost: IDR 150,000

  • Can be paid online before arrival or at the airport

  • Applies only to Bali — Lombok does not charge this levy

Lombok Arrival Tips

Lombok is a beautiful, traditional island — small differences from Bali can make a big difference when you arrive. These tips will help you get settled quickly and enjoy your adventure.

  • Coverage is generally good, but remote areas may have slower connections.

  • Download offline maps before exploring less-populated areas.

Local Insight

  • Locals are friendly and helpful; a smile and respectful approach go a long way.
